April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. She is among only a handful of female beach volleyball players to have achieved this feat. Alix klineman, who is competing for the first time in Tokyo's Olympics is hoping to secure her third Olympic medal. Ross wants to achieve more than just her first Olympic medal. At 39, this could be her last chance to take home the gold medal at an Olympics. Nevertheless, she remains convinced of winning top awards. Ross stated via NBC Boston: "If we try our best, and even If we play our best, I think we could be able to win gold." Also, I'll take the opportunity to try my luck. Ross was born in California, Costa Mesa in the year 1982. Her parents and her sister lived in the area. While at Newport Harbor High School, she played in a variety of different sports. Being a pre-athlete, she also played indoor track and volleyball. She was clearly the best at the sport of indoor volleyball. When she played in her time at the high school level, according to her college profile, she played as a middle-blocker, outside-hitter and setter. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the national Player in 1999. In 2000, she was awarded an Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman may have begun working together in the year 2017, however Ross was already an established player at the beach before they joined forces. In reality, she's won multiple big tournaments and one partner was a volleyball superstar. For six years from 2007 to 2013 she teamed alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Alongside Kessy Ross was an ace in the world circuit, winning a world title in 2009. They went through to take home a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. They were defeated for the gold medal by the legendary team of Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate as Maytreanor resigned. They went on to compete for the bronze medal in beach volleyball in the Rio Olympics 2016. They were joined by Walsh Jennings. Ross was a college athlete at USC Trojans prior to beginning her pro career. She played during high school, and even years prior to hitting the beach as a professional. And her run at USC was an impressive one. She was a All-American and Pac-10 Freshman of Year when she was a teen freshman. Also, she was a key player for helping the Trojans reach their way to the Final Four. In her sophomore season she was devastated by a personal loss, yet earned the distinction of being an All-American. In the two years she played for the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them to win two consecutive titles. As an individual, she established herself as an all-time legend winning the 2003-2004 Honda Sports Award as the nation's top female collegiate volleyball player. Ross who was who was a USC international relations student was a renowned volleyball player. Margie Ross did not get to witness her daughter's rise to the beach volleyball spotlight. Ross's mother passed away from breast cancer while she was a sophomore at USC. Her mother is still dear. Margie is an inspiration both on and off at the beach.
