Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and a businesswoman. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Thrive Global as well an author of a number of novels. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned liberal news site is a popular TV show host an author and philanthropist. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington came to England together with her family around sixteen years of age. When she attended Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. It was her first time as a student from outside the UK to serve as the president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. She became a conservative syndicated author after her graduation and, when The Huffington Post launched a couple of years later, she developed an online platform to voice opinions that provided criticisms of political situations. Her fame and popularity helped to get a number of prominent contributors to publish their thoughts on news, politics and other topics. Arianna became famous after she decided to candidly run as an independent candidate for the California Recall Election, to succeed Governor Davis. Alongside this she was also the director of the Detroit Project to promote fuel-efficient vehicles. Her rank was 12th on Forbes' ranking of the most influential women in media. In the same year, Guardian listed her among the top 100 figures in media. In 2011 AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made the president of that media company, which also included a number of existing AOL brands too, like Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos journalist father who is also a management consultant. Even though she was in a close connection to both her parents the bond between them which helped mold her. She was a leader throughout her childhood. When she turned 16 she relocating to the United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She joined The Cambridge Union college debate society as a student, where she was the third female to serve as president. In 1972, she earned an MA in Economics. She became a writer, a critic in the media, as well as host of a television show and as a columnist shortly after her graduation. In addition, she appeared with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing her own books with his assistance in editing.
